New Patient Information

In order to help us manage your health we would be grateful if you could read the following information regarding our prescribing of medication whilst under the care of Rockfield Medical Centre.

This applies to all patients registered with the surgery.

At Rockfield Medical Centre we endeavour to provide the best patient care possible. Therefore by registering with us we will help you reduce and stop some medications, which can have long term problems and side effects. Frequently medications can cause dependence and are not suitable for long term use and as such have negative health outcomes. Further information and guidance is available through NHS inform website.

Upon registering with Rockfield Medical Centre your medication will be reviewed and we will endeavour to reduce and stop the following groups of medication. This list is not exclusive.

  • Benzodiazepines (Diazepam, Lorazepam, Temazepam)
  • Sleeping tablets (Zopiclone, Zolpidem)
  • Opioids (Tramadol, Morphine, Codeine, Oxycodone)
  • Gabapentinoids (Pregabalin (Lyrica), Gabapentin)

Further policies are available in the policies section of our website.
