Advice:

Patients sometimes submit a request for their GP to ‘exempt them from Jury Duty’.  This is not something that GP’s can do.

If you have been called for Jury Duty and feel that you have a MEDICAL CONDITION that would prevent you from serving on the jury, please leave details at reception who will speak with the GP for advice.

If we have records confirming an ongoing medical condition which may impact your ability to serve on a jury, we can provide a letter for the court confirming your medical condition.  We cannot exempt patients – this is always up to the court to decide based on the evidence presented.

As this is non clinical work, you should allow at least 5 to 10 working days (this maybe longer during periods of annual leave or illness) for this to be completed.
